Dickies Men’s Casual Leather Belt

10 reviews for Dickies Men’s Casual Leather Belt

I’ve had this belt since August of 2016 and I’m very disappointed with the overall quality; it just hasn’t held up. If you look at the picture I posted, you will see that there is definitely a question of whether the belt is actually 100% leather as leather does not scratch off the top layer with your finger nail. I’ve had full grain, saddle leather belts many times before and never have I had a problem like what I have with this one, basically falling apart with light pressure after a few years of daily usage. I have full grain leather belts that have lasted 7+ years from Eddie Bauer, Wilson’s Leather and other places that source high quality tanned leather, and will not waste my money again on anything “Dickies” branded, at least in belts. If you want a good, long lasting belt, avoid Dickies.

  2. The Lunch Lady

This is very misleading advertising. This belt is NOT 100 percent leather. See picture showing what is stamped on the inside of the belt. I expected to receive a 100% leather belt as advertised. Will be returning.

This is a good basic belt. I ordered my first one in January 2012. I lost some weight and it was time for a new one. The belt has changed since then and the Amazon picture shows the belt that I ordered in 2012 not the one you will get now.

I attached a picture of both belts. The weathered belt is the old one. As you can see it is much lighter in color. It also feels more ‘leathery.’ The new belt is definitely leather but you can really only see raw leather if you pull up the flap where the buckle is attached. Otherwise, the leather has some kind of coating that gives it a high gloss sheen and a somewhat plastic appearance. It still seems like a functional basic belt, I just don’t like the appearance as well as the original.

Belt broke after 3 months of light use. Buckle appears to be cheap metal and a piece broke off where the tongue attaches, belt is currently useless.

Contacted Dickies and the belt is a licensed product made by Randa Accessories so I will now wait 3-5 weeks to see if they will replace the belt under warranty.

I bought one of these in 2013 according to my purchase history. It was nice and thick, and lasted 6 years before the buckle broke off. I was really happy with it, so I bought another, but it’s not even close to being the same. It’s much thinner, and the leather is stiffer and lower quality. It looks almost nothing like the product photo. I’d be surprised if this lasts for a year of daily use. Then it’ll be time to move onto something else.

I imagine most of the 5-star reviews are from the previous version, because there’s no way that this one is of any decent quality.

  6. I see too many men around wearing skinny jeans. It makes me uncomfortable to see them. It’s probably due to my predilection for breathing and unrestricted circulation. The only things I like to wear snugly are my briefs and my wedding band. As far as my jeans, I only need them snug around the waist, because I also have a predilection for keeping my pants up.

I am man with man curves. This means I want my jeans at my waist, not tucked under or, worse, so low that my snug briefs can be seen by innocent passersby. That’s just unpleasant and uncivilized. It took me a long time (too long, really) to find jeans that fit real men. When I finally found them, I found them rather inconsistent where the waist is concerned, that is, some were snug, as they should be, some wanted to visit my shoes. No good.

This calls for the right belt of the right size and the right number of holes, that I may adjust it as I see fit (see what I did there?). I was blessed to find the Dickies Men’s 100% Leather Jeans Belt with Stitch Design and Prong Buckle. I went with Dickies because Dickies products are generally worn by real men with man bodies. I must confess, I was a little skeptical at first. They (I bought two) seemed rather stiff. But, after wearing them for a couple of weeks, they have revealed their craftsmanship. I gave them five stars for “Stretch” because they don’t. Honestly, it is far too soon to rate their durability, but Amazon insists that I do so and it’s not fair to penalize Dickies because Amazon is anal about ratings. Five stars it is.

These belts are for me. I have already figured out the different settings (which hole) I need for walking, sitting, and driving. Hey, you do what you want when you get them. The important thing is that, thanks to the Dickies Men’s 100% Leather Jeans Belt with Stitch Design and Prong Buckle, I know that if my jeans are not hanging in my closet or sitting in my hamper waiting to be washed, they are held snugly to my waist, and not crumpled around my feet while the nice ladies who give me popcorn laugh hysterically and/or retch.

I guess at some point your husband even makes you do his regular clothing shopping right? He would by the standard cheap belts from local clothing stores only to have them tear or break a few months later. I decided to try these out since they were rated number 3 for best brand to purchase a belt. I was not disappointed when we received the belt. it was packaged great, arrived on time and color and size were true to the description online. Husband really loves it too as he is an electrician so it was much needed to have a thick, sturdy belt.

The Dickies brand belt is of high quality and thick leather but I followed the advice of the product page and ordered a belt larger than my pants size. (i.e. I am wearing size 50 pants – ordered a 52 belt). Well my initial order came and the belt was WAY TOO LARGE – I mean I was on the 2nd hole from the tightest setting – that too large… No problemo with a little time and patience – Amazon to the rescue – Hassle Free return, did not even need a box, just brought the belt to UPS and everything else was handled for me. The replacement size 50 Dickies Belt is happily being worn daily now. Nice belt for a big boy indeed.

They hold my work trousers up and coworkers don’t get the pleasure of peeking at my crack. Job done!
